Welcome to the music page! Here we will update the ward choir songs, with links to practice along with, and we will post which dates the ward choir will be singing. Everyone is invited to join the ward choir, regardless of musical ability. Choirs are better when as many people as possible join. It is a great place of belonging where we all get to sing in worship to our Heavenly Father. “The song of the righteous is a prayer unto me” (D&C 25: 12). We hope all will join us!
“[Music] can exert a continuing influence for good…[It] has [the] power to provide spiritual nourishment. It has healing power. It has [the] power to facilitate worship; it allows us to contemplate the [Savior’s] Atonement and the Restoration of the gospel with its saving principles and exalting ordinances. Music provides power for us to express prayerful thoughts and bear testimony of sacred truths.” -President Russell M. Nelson (Power and Protection Provided by Worthy Music, May 4, 2008. https://speeches.byu.edu/talks/russell-m-nelson/power-protection-provided-worthy-music/)
Songs to Practice
January 18:
“Close as a Quiet Prayer”
February 22 (Ward Conference Sunday):
Angie has an arrangement she will send, but for now this song has a different accompaniment than shown below. However the melody and parts are all the same, so practice with these tools will be wonderful still.
“From Homes of Saints Glad Songs Arise“
Above is the arrangement that Angie will be playing. The parts on the third verse are different than the recordings above, but for now they will still be a great resource for practicing and learning the melody and cadence.
